In a recent interview with “Diễn đàn Doanh nghiệp”, the CEO of AMELA Technology shared insightful perspectives on technology, digital transformation, and the role of young Vietnamese enterprises in shaping the country’s future. The conversation highlighted AMELA’s journey from a young software company to a fast-growing technology partner, as well as the company’s long-term vision to elevate Vietnamese engineering talent to international standards.
AMELA Technology: Building Global-Standard Vietnamese Engineering
Technology is increasingly recognized as the decisive force driving breakthroughs—not only at the enterprise level, but also at the national scale. In Vietnam’s journey toward digital transformation, technology has been identified by the government as a key engine for sustainable growth, competitiveness, and social progress.
Within this broader national context, AMELA Technology has emerged as a young but determined technology company, carrying a clear ambition: to build internationally recognized software products while contributing to the development of high-quality Vietnamese engineering talent.
Founded in 2019, AMELA operates in the fields of software development and IT services, with a strong focus on delivering solutions that meet global standards. From its early days, the company has positioned itself not merely as a service provider, but as a long-term partner for businesses seeking meaningful digital transformation.
From Engineers to Entrepreneurs: The Motivation Behind AMELA’s Journey
The founding story of AMELA is deeply rooted in practical experience. Before establishing the company, the founding team spent several years working in Japan, directly participating in projects at Japanese enterprises. This exposure provided not only technical knowledge, but also a first-hand understanding of global working standards, discipline, and quality expectations.
During this time, one recurring issue became clear. Feedback from Japanese partners often did not point to technical weakness among Vietnamese engineers, but rather to gaps in professional working skills, communication, and product ownership. This realization became a powerful motivation.
Returning to Vietnam, the founders set out with a clear purpose: to help improve the overall quality and international recognition of Vietnamese engineers. AMELA was envisioned as an environment where young technology graduates could be trained not only in technical skills, but also in professional mindset, working methodology, and product responsibility—so that the final output could meet the expectations of the most demanding global markets.
Remarkable Growth in a Short Time
Despite being a young company, AMELA experienced rapid and well-structured growth. By the end of 2019, less than one year after its establishment, the company had reached a team size of approximately 40 people and achieved revenues exceeding VND 10 billion. While modest in absolute terms, these early results reflected the strong commitment and discipline of the team.
By the end of 2020, AMELA had grown to 120 employees, opened a branch in Japan, and recorded revenues of more than VND 40 billion. In early 2021, the company was honored with the prestigious Sao Khuê Award, recognizing its excellence in software export services.
At the same time, AMELA continued to strengthen its internal foundations by pursuing international standards and certifications, including information security and quality management systems. As the company approaches nearly 200 employees, growth has remained closely tied to capability building rather than scale alone.
A Comprehensive, End-to-End Approach to Technology Solutions
One of AMELA’s defining strengths lies in its ability to provide comprehensive, end-to-end solutions. Rather than receiving fully defined requirements and executing them in isolation, AMELA works closely with clients from the earliest stages.
Many clients approach AMELA with only an initial idea or a rough concept. From there, AMELA’s teams engage in requirement analysis, system design, architecture planning, development, deployment, and long-term operation. This holistic approach allows solutions to be tailored precisely to each client’s business context, scale, and growth stage.
By focusing on delivering complete and practical systems—not just code—AMELA aims to create real business value and long-term impact for its clients.
Addressing Vietnam’s Digital Transformation Challenges
Vietnam has set an ambitious goal: by 2030, the country aims to have 100,000 digital technology enterprises. While this target reflects strong national determination, it also presents significant challenges.
One of the most pressing issues is the shortage of high-quality human resources. Demand for skilled technology professionals continues to grow faster than supply, creating pressure on both talent availability and overall quality. Without sufficient investment in training and capability development, rapid expansion could lead to diluted expertise and declining standards.
AMELA views this challenge as both a responsibility and an opportunity. Through its projects, the company supports enterprises in automating operations, improving efficiency, and transitioning from manual processes to digital systems. At the same time, AMELA invests heavily in internal training, believing that sustainable digital transformation must be built on strong human foundations.
Engineers trained at AMELA are expected not only to contribute to company projects, but also to play a role in Vietnam’s broader digital transformation ecosystem over the long term.
Vision, Responsibility, and Global Aspiration
Looking ahead, AMELA has articulated a clear strategic vision. In the near future, the company aims to grow into an organization of 1,000 people and pursue further expansion in international markets, including deeper engagement with Japan and other advanced economies.
Vietnam is also seen as a highly promising domestic market, with a growing number of small and medium-sized enterprises seeking digital transformation. By leveraging accumulated knowledge and experience, AMELA aims to deliver solutions that are well-suited to the Vietnamese context while maintaining global quality standards.
Beyond business objectives, AMELA carries a broader aspiration: to help reshape how the world perceives Vietnamese technology products. The long-term goal is for markets such as Japan and the United States to view Vietnam not merely as a low-cost outsourcing destination, but as a country with strong technological capability, professionalism, and innovation.
A Message to Young Technology Entrepreneurs
AMELA’s journey also carries a message for young people pursuing entrepreneurship in technology. While the startup movement has gained strong momentum, sustainable success requires patience, preparation, and resilience.
Building experience, setting clear goals, and accumulating practical knowledge before launching a venture can significantly increase the likelihood of long-term success. Entrepreneurship is challenging, but it is also a journey filled with meaningful learning and the satisfaction of creating value for others.
Moving Forward with Pride and Purpose
AMELA Technology continues to move forward with a strong sense of pride and responsibility. Guided by a vision aligned with national digital transformation goals and driven by the ambition to elevate Vietnamese engineering on the global stage, the company remains committed to building value—not only for clients, but also for society.
As technology becomes the backbone of future growth, AMELA stands ready to contribute, innovate, and lead with purpose.
