Identry – Self-Sovereign Identity Platform Project

Identry is a self-sovereign identity platform developed for the Netherlands public-sector and enterprise context, designed to support privacy-critical identity and access management scenarios. Built on Hyperledger Fabric blockchain, the solution focuses on giving organizations a secure and compliant way to manage digital identity while preserving user control and data integrity.

The project targets EU-based enterprises and government organizations that require strong privacy protection, trusted identity verification, and compliance with strict regulatory expectations.

Case Study Overview

Identry case study

The core objective of Identry was to design a GDPR-compliant, robust Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) solution that could be used in environments where privacy, traceability, and trust are essential. Rather than relying on conventional centralized identity models, the platform was designed to support a more decentralized approach, giving users and organizations greater control over identity data while reducing unnecessary exposure of personal information.

Because the solution serves organizations operating in highly regulated contexts, the project required a careful balance between blockchain-based trust architecture, product usability, and long-term maintainability across web and mobile touchpoints.

Business Context

Identity systems used by governments and enterprises often rely on centralized structures that create risks around privacy, ownership, and data exposure. In contrast, Identry was positioned as a solution that aligns with the principles of self-sovereign identity, where digital identity can be managed more securely and transparently.

The project sits within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) domain and was designed to serve organizations that need a higher standard of compliance, reliability, and trust in how identity data is created, stored, and shared.

Goals

  • Design a GDPR-compliant and robust self-sovereign identity solution
  • Support EU-based enterprises and government organizations where privacy is critical
