Honey thing - Event Organizing App Summary

This is an app about opening fair events for kids. Your kids can not only learn the spirit of appreciating things but also improve the ability of financial management. Only students from middle school and up are allowed to manage an event. Staff will whole-heartedly and politely guide you through the preparations for the store opening, during the event, and the clean-up afterward.

Project Overview

Honey Thing is a Japan-based educational mobile application designed to support children’s learning through real-world fair events. The platform helps families and organizers create structured kids’ markets where children can experience the value of work, money, and appreciation in a safe and guided environment.

The app enables the planning and operation of children’s fair events, allowing kids to open small booths, interact with customers, and practice basic financial management skills. To ensure responsibility and safety, only middle school students and above are permitted to manage events, while younger children participate under supervision.

Honey Thing combines digital event management with offline execution, covering the full event lifecycle from preparation and on-site operation to post-event clean-up. With staff providing guidance throughout each stage, the application delivers an experience-based learning model tailored to the Japanese context, helping children develop financial awareness, social skills, and a sense of responsibility through hands-on participation.

The client aimed to build an educational application in Japan that could connect digital event management with real-world fair activities for children.

The platform needed to support multiple user roles, ensure child safety, and align with Japan’s strong expectations around structure, guidance, and responsibility in educational services.

At the same time, the app had to be friendly and engaging for children, while remaining reliable and easy to manage for parents, staff, and event organizers.

  • Designing an application that bridges online planning and offline event execution without creating operational gaps

  • Managing different user roles with strict age-based permissions, especially for event management responsibilities

  • Ensuring a safe and supervised experience suitable for children, aligned with Japanese social and educational standards

  • Creating an intuitive UI that works well for both children and adults with different levels of technical familiarity

  • Supporting the full event lifecycle, from preparation and operation to post-event clean-up, in a single system

AMELA worked closely with the client to design and develop a mobile application that supports the entire children’s fair event workflow.

The app enables parents and organizers to create and manage events digitally, while allowing eligible students to take part in booth operations under clear rules and supervision.

Key solution highlights include:

  • A role-based system separating parents, children, students, and staff responsibilities

  • Structured event flows covering preparation, live operation, and post-event wrap-up

  • Clear age restrictions to ensure only middle school students and above can manage events

  • A friendly, child-oriented UI combined with reliable management screens for adults

  • A design approach that seamlessly connects in-app actions with real-world activities

  • Delivered a stable and user-friendly application tailored to the Japanese market

  • Enabled children to gain practical financial and social skills through real-life experiences

  • Reduced operational complexity for organizers by centralizing event management in one platform

  • Created a scalable foundation for expanding educational fair events across different locations

  • Strengthened trust among parents through clear rules, supervision, and guided processes

  • Mobile application development for iOS and Android

  • Modern UI/UX design focused on children-friendly interactions

  • Secure backend architecture supporting multi-role user management

  • API-driven system to support future feature expansion and scalability
